Whois

LACNIC's WHOIS service allows querying information on the Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) and IP addresses assigned by LACNIC.

Whois is a distributed information system that allows querying databases that store information about an IP address or domain name, such as their registered holder.

The LACNIC Whois service allows querying information about the autonomous system numbers (ASNs) and IP addresses assigned by LACNIC and other regional registries. It also provides information relating to these resources, including details about the organizations that hold them and their points of contact

Joint Whois is a project created under the coordination of the Number Resource Organization (NRO) for the purpose of making available a single point of entry for all IP address and ASN queries, regardless of the RIR that manages the queried resource. The system is basically a proxy that redirects the queries it receives towards the Whois server of the RIR that manages the corresponding resource. The LACNIC Whois server is already operating this way.
